Proper nutrition outdoors has never been easier or tasted better. Dehydrated meals from Bla Band are carefully crafted to reconstitute quickly without compromising on the flavour. By using up to 10 different drying methods (e.g. freeze, air, vacuum, oven, etc...) dependent on the specific ingredient Bla Band (that's Blue Ribbon in Swedish) make some of the tastiest expedition/camping meals we've ever tasted.
Hot or Cold
You can use either hot or cold water to prepare these meals. On the inside of the packet there is a measuring line to show you how much water is required. These are coded by a lettering system. The letter for each meal is shown on the back of the packet.
If you use hot water this meal should be ready in 10 minutes. Alternatively you can also use cold water, which takes 30 minutes.
It's in the detail...
Bla Band uses a horizontal packet to make it easier to get your cutlery to the bottom. It's a simple decision they've made but it helps you avoid making a mess or missing some food. The added benefit of the packet being shaped like this is that it's harder to knock it over because of the lower centre of gravity.
Finally the labels have a special backing to them that helps reflect heat back into the pack and away from your fingers. Making it easier to handle while hot and keeps it warmer for longer.
